Crescent Respite is seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Disability Support Workers, around Highton VIC, who have experience supporting people including young people with complex disability and behaviour, including offending behaviours, to join our dynamic team!

As this role requires daily communication with NDIS participants who have cognitive disability, ability to communicate clearly is a must. If you have experience working with people who have complex needs (including; behaviours, mental health issues, criminal justice related issues, history of trauma, history of living in residential care, drug/alcohol abuse etc), we'd love to hear from you.

 

About the role:

We are looking for experienced Support Workers who believe in second chances and are passionate about supporting clients to re-integrate back into the community. You will be providing 2:1 assistance in daily living skills in our newly established SIL accommodation in Highton, Victoria

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 1+ years experience within the disability, community services or similar 
  • Experience working with clients diagnosed with Autism, Intellectual disability and impaired cognition.
  • Experience working with youths with challenging behaviours (highly valued)
  • Willingness to support clients with personal care, medications, community access, meal preparation, domestic chores and mealtime assistance.
  • Certificate III or above in Disability Support or similar
  • Must be available to work 20+ hours per week and able to work a rotating roster including active nights. 

 

Mandatory Requirement -

  • Valid Victorian Driver’s License 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Valid First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Manual Handling certificate 
  • Medication Administration certificate
  • Victorian Working with Children’s Check
  • National Police Check (obtained within last 6 months)
